Western Hognose Snakes

It's funny how life works sometimes. When it came to choosing a snake, it wasn't really me who made the choice, but rather, the Western Hognose snakes who chose me. I convinced my husband to let me get my first snake, but with one condition - it had to be a small one to fit our existing (empty) enclosures. Off we went to a reptile show, hoping to find a tiny snake that would be a perfect fit. I had a few species in mind like rosy boas or African house snakes. But then, it happened. I laid my eyes on him - a super tiny albino anaconda Western Hognose. It was love at first sight. He weighed just 9 grams. Without hesitation, we also brought home a female to keep him company, and that's how our journey as Western Hognose breeders began.
